My Advice: Wait and Rent It
Rating: out of
He's a super nice guy!! Let me introduce you to Ben Holmes (Affleck).
As trusty and reliable and a really big Boy Scout Knife (only not as sharp) he's on his way from New York to Savannah
to marry a very very nice girl, Bridget (Tierney). Awwwww, isn't this all very very special!!!!
Here's the problem. Mishap after mishap befall him and he finds
himself thrust (let me take a moment to shiver cause I like that word) together with the winsome and vibrant Sarah
(Bullock). As the movie trailer states, he goes from the eye of the storm into the arms of a hurricane.
I found the film mildly amusing. Affleck is the same as he ever
is. Dependable, reliable, quietly heroic. Bullock is so adorable I could eat her up with a spoon. There is nothing
she does that she does not shine in. And, if for nothing else, go see the movie for the "Strip Club"
scene. That alone is worth price of rental or admission. I was also oddly impressed with the wind scene at the
end of the movie when Ben confronts his emotional bride about the wedding to be. Then again, I am easily amused.
All in all, I liked this film. It had some highly entertaining
moments and it's only apparent downfall was an ending that left me feeling as if all that should have been discovered
about these characters never was. Just like this review
